RB Leipzig vs PSV Eindhoven - Highlights

The Red Bulls have picked up their first league phase win of the Champions League campaign, beating PSV Eindhoven 1-0 at the Red Bull Arena. Brajan Gruda scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute. 🔥

The game got off to an open start, with both sides looking to get forward early on. PSV were awarded a penalty following a VAR review in the 19th minute. Ridle Baku was given a slight nudge by Ruben van Bommel as he jumped, before the ball struck our full-back’s outstretched arm.

Maarten Vandevoordt came to the rescue, however. Ivan Perišić fired the penalty down the middle and, despite already diving to his left, our goalkeeper managed to get a trailing foot to the ball and keep the scores level.

The Red Bulls came flying out of the blocks after the break and gradually took control of proceedings. RBL created a number of good chances, but initially failed to make their strong spell count.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 75th minute. Obispo could only clear a Leipzig corner as far as the edge of the box, where Brajan controlled the ball on his chest, worked it past Mauro Júnior and curled an effort towards the top-left corner. Perišić got a slight touch on the shot, which proved just enough to take it past Kovář – 1-0 to RBL!

The decisive goal was no more than the Red Bulls deserved to crown an impressive second-half display and a strong Champions League performance overall.
